With over 2 years of experience as a Game Master in Dungeons and Dragons and various other Role-Playing Games, I've honed my skills in crafting gripping narratives and facilitating epic adventures. As a fully qualified Primary School Teacher with a DBS certification, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in creating engaging and inclusive environments for players of all ages. Additionally, my qualifications in Mental Health and Counseling ensure that I prioritize the well-being of my players and foster a supportive gaming community.
Running a D&D Club and Organization
In the past I've also taken on the mantle of Club Director and Manager, overseeing a thriving Dungeons and Dragons club with over 200 members in less than a year. What began as a humble initiative to bring together like-minded individuals has blossomed into a vibrant community, fostering friendships and combatting social isolation. Through our shared love of tabletop gaming, we've built a supportive and inclusive space where players and Dungeon Masters alike can come together to embark on epic quests and forge lasting bonds.
Prioritizing Well-being
Well-being, mindfulness, and mental health have always been paramount to me in my work with young people. In today's fast-paced and increasingly interconnected world, issues such as anxiety, low mood, depression, and social isolation are unfortunately becoming more prevalent among our youth. However, I firmly believe that gaming, particularly social gaming like Dungeons and Dragons, can serve as a powerful antidote to these challenges.
Types of Games I Love
I have a particular fondness for gothic horror, with adventures like Curse of Strahd capturing my imagination. I enjoy delving into the rich lore of vampires and other complex monsters, crafting narratives that challenge players to confront their darkest fears. While I appreciate both low and high fantasy settings, my games tend to lean towards high fantasy due to the abundance of magical elements in D&D 5th Edition. From dungeon crawls to epic level boss battles, murder mysteries to business management simulations, I relish the opportunity to explore diverse gaming experiences.
Inspiration Sources
My creative well draws inspiration from a myriad of sources, including beloved franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Warhammer, as well as a diverse array of anime and literature such as the Kingkiller Chronicles. I'm constantly on the lookout for new stories, plot hooks, and eccentric NPCs to enrich the worlds I create.
Youth and School Work
In addition to my extensive experience as a Game Master in Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop RPGs, I have dedicated myself to fostering the growth and well-being of young people and children through gaming. For the past 5 years, I've served as a Dungeon Master for various youth programs, school sessions, and private events, leveraging the power of storytelling and role-playing to inspire and uplift young minds.
As a fully qualified Primary School Teacher, I bring a wealth of pedagogical expertise to my gaming sessions, ensuring that they are not only fun and engaging but also educational and enriching experiences.
