Dungeons and Dragons Groups Near Me
Looking for a Dungeons and Dragons Group Near Me, Seen this before? Been this person before?
Everyone has been in this situation before looking for a DND group, possibly moved somewhere new and don’t know where to go to get started. I have recently moved to Devon UK and within 2 months I have managed to find Dungeon and Dragons groups near me. Know that this is not always easy and sometimes you will have to put the work in to find or even start the group.
So, I have been Dungeon Mastering for the last 10 years and I have learnt a lot in that time about where to find groups of players and how to find them. There are so many resources and online groups/ forums out there for finding Dungeons and Dragons groups near you.
The first question you must ask yourself is
Do you want to play online or in person?
the Second is
Do you want to pay for Dungeons and Dragons sessions?
Let’s start with online games!
With Covid over the last year and lockdown the online scene for DND has skyrocketed with sales for DND products increasing by 35%. Unless you have been living under a rock you probably already know about Roll20, it is one of the main online tools used for DND games online. What you may not have known is there is a forum on there if you are looking for a game (Linked below.) You can choose between paid and free games, different times and dates. It is a great place to get started. There are other sites and tools available for online DND like Fantasy Grounds, Foundry Virtual Tabletop, Tabletop Simulator and more! There are many more available and if you are unsure have a look at this site for more information comparing the best DND software.

There are also plenty of groups on Facebook and Reddit for new players to join or people looking for Dungeons and Dragons games near them. Remember you can also search DND Beyond. They are all linked at the end.
Physical games are harder to find but, in my opinion, better too!
From my experience, when trying to find a DND game in your area doing a google search without much digging is no help. So here are my Top 3 Tips for finding a game in your area:
1. Research and visit every gaming shop in your local area. Ask them about DND in the area and who to go to for games.
2. Research any sort of gaming clubs (Board games, magic, wargaming etc.) in your area and ask them about DND in the area and who to go to. Gaming communities are linked and if there is not a group already you may find more players at these Clubs.
3. Post everywhere and see who replies. ‘Looking for a DND group in Devon’ I posted this over 20 times in different places on reddit, Facebook and gaming forums. You can do this on Meet Up.
If none of this works, then start your own group! Search and find like minded people and be an organiser.
And if you need some help with that message me and I would be happy to help! Comment Below!
As always, Happy Gaming Everyone!
